Statehouse Day - April 9

The LWVUS Agriculture Study: Reaching Consensus

Saturday, April 12, 2 – 4 p.m.
Kendal at Oberlin – Wm Penn Dining Hall

Presentations on four aspects of US agriculture (animal management, research and development, food safety, food labeling) will culminate in discussion and attempts to reach consensus on questions posed by the national league. The Ballot Issues: Learn and Decide

Hear presentations on the two county-wide issues and one Oberlin city issue on the May 6 primary ballot.

Triple Divide, a documentary film

Monday, April 21, 7:15 p.m.
Kendal at Oberlin auditorium

Triple Divide is said to be the only documentary of its kind on the controversial subject of fracking capable of speaking to all sides, with exclusive interviews from the industry, experts, and Americans suffering in the wake of shale gas development… Academy Award nominated actor Mark Ruffalo co-narrates the film, taking part in the project after being shown an online screener a few weeks before the final release. The film is co-directed by journalists Joshua Pribanic & Melissa Troutman.

The 90-minute documentary is a project by PublicHerald.org, a Pennsylvania based nonprofit organization.

The Tenth LWVOA Annual Meeting

Kendal at Oberlin – Fox and Fell Dining Room

This event starts off with a business meeting at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon and social time. At 1:00 p.m. Rep. Bill Patmon (Ohio District 10) will speak and answer questions.
